The X1 Carbon is indeed now available with 16GB of RAM. The SKUs are brand new and I've been told that they currently come with a 10-15 day lead time between when orders are placed and units shipped.

Go to http://www.lenovosolutionscentre.com/usa/portfolio/system/thinkpad/ and select "X1 Carbon (New Broadwell)" for a list of SKUs. You can filter by units with 16GB of RAM to see the new part numbers.

Hmm I must be missing something. I don't see any models in that list with 16 GB RAM.

Meanwhile, again unless I'm missing something, it appears that only the models with an i7 CPU are currently available for order in the USA with 16 GB RAM which is disappointing.

Hopefully there are plans to make this option available on the models with i5 CPUs.

any tips to adjust the touchpad settings / drivers? I'm moving over from a samsung series 9 and the touchpad on my series 9 is infinitely better.

I'm planning to do the same thing, but not tried out the X1C. In what ways do you find the S9 touchpad better? I find its L&R buttons too stiff to click. Thanks.
