    Welcome to the forum!

You do understand that the LCD that you linked to is NOT the real deal, but a "compatible/replacement" panel?

I've previously checked in the forums for compatible screens, and this model seemed to be used by many, the link I provided is just for detailed specifications. If you know another screen model that is more suitable, I would appreciate if you give me the details. My concern is about the cable connecting the screen to the motherboard, I don't know if the cable used for HD screen is also compatible with the Full HD screen.

    Thanks

    You are missing my point:

If the screen is *the* real deal, then yes, by all means, it's a straight swap. You can keep the LCD cable as well.

    However...

The seller in question lists that panel as being "glossy" which it shouldn't be, if it's the original panel.

Furthermore, they list a bunch of T61-era panels as "glossy" and NONE of them ever were.

Not to mention the fact that they are offering "brand new" ID Tech LCDs. That company went out of business in 2005/2006.

    Catching my drift now?

Nice one, thanks for the information, I see that on ebay and other shops, that specific screen model is listed with Matte coating specification. I'll do a proper check before buying it. Thanks again

Yeah all of the ebay sellers say that!

Do you know where I could find the original screen manufactured by AU optronics ? Does Lenovo have an official store where I can get the proper screen ?

I've been looking on amazon and ebay and all the sellers I found so far have this
'' please note we may ship a 100% compatible item''

Not all of them. You have to dig deep and hard, though.

I'm certain that Lenovo could sell you a screen but that you would NOT like the price.

As previously stated, you'll have to put serious effort into obtaining a genuine panel. It's not easy but it IS possible.

    Good luck.
