Anyone who has bought from the Lenovo USA store being from another country?
I really would like to buy the X1 extreme and the price difference between my country (Italy) store and the US one is insane. Approx 1k € for the same specs.
I was wondering if anyone went this road how did they managed it: usiing one of the many buy and ship services like myusa, etc or maybe with a friend help...
I have approx 400€ of import taxes though...

Did not go through the whole thread. I have the 4k screen and the battery life is just bad. Any ideas on getting battery life on these?
I also read that doing a repaste will help with cooling. Is there a link to help with doing this?

What we can expect from the 3rd Gen? Just an Intel 10th gen CPU refresh? Maybe an Nvidia 1650 super max q if this even comes out?
I just sold my X1 4th Gen and I think I will be more than a year without a laptop waiting for the Intel 10nm and the next Nvidia architecture.

10th gen CPU refresh and maybe a GPU refresh but that is a stretch. The upgrade from 2nd to 3rd gen shouldn't be that much

What about 16:10 screen ratio? Maybe 16-17" version like the new Mac and Dell XPS?

X1E is relatively new chassis, they will not make any huge changes now, X1E gen. 3 will be just a refresh with new chips.
Biggest change from Lenovo this year will be renaming T490/T590/E490/etc to T14/T15/E14/etc.

Lenovo does seem to have a tendency of changing the chassis every 2 generations, whether or not they really should. It's probably why there is some interest pinned to the X1E3.

It's also Lenovo, though, so I expect regressions in battery size, cooling capability, keyboard, and upgradeability.

We may get the finest 16:9 glossy displays to "compensate" for this, however. o_O

Also the likeliness of getting a vastly superior AMD CPU is near nil. Expect an Intel 14nm spaceheater and the lower battery life associated with 14nm Intel.
