i might also add that at one point chevy offered the camaro with a 4 banger. Now that could be a poser car. But if they offered it now with some new technology then no, still good camaro

    C'mon Red_Dragon, 300@300 in a Vette would have a winner? The 2009 ZR1 has 620 hp / 595 lb-ft. [IMG]

Why are we takling about power? This is about FUEL EFFICIENCY! with an engine like the vette would be getting over 30MPG on the highway and over 20 in the city. It would also make the vette sell more, and at the same time giving it a lower base price. Could you imagine a vette $6000 off the base price? Thats what an engine like this could do. GM isn't smart enough to try this though.

Because it's the Vette we're talking here?

Buyers of Vette are not looking for fuel efficiency as priority, power is.

No one will buy a Vette with only 300 hp, even if it's $6,000 cheaper.

It doesnt matter, you have to change with the market bro the 260 @ 260 in the coblat SS does 0-100 in 12.0 sec!! Thats insane, thats one of the cheapest cars that give you that power and fuel efficiency. GM needs to go for SALES now not a niche market.

I don't think you understand the "stature" of the Vette.

0-100 in 12.0 is insane? Good luck trying to convince the Vette buyers.

    2009 ZR1

    0-60 in 3.4
    0-100 in 7 flat

Even the previous Z06 can do 0-60 in 3.7 and 0-100 in 7.9.

No one will buy the new Vette if it's any slower than the previous.

I think you were going for Stature there. They probably should have gone with the previous plan to sell it off. People are a little scared of that, but the critical staff would have gone with it along with certain technology, and remember that changes over time even under gm control. The viper really should be sold off.

thats a HORRID comparison you are comparing a $100,000 highest trim vette to my proposed $40,000 vette?

Bro you can get like an 06 vette(current gen) for like in the 20ish range anyone can buy a vette now.
