Think I might buy one of those new camaros in a year or so

    I know it's "located" in France. What I meant was the founder/designer is Italian.

    Gotcha...I just read that only 200 have been built thru 2008 and they will end production at 300 units...although selling another 100 in the new world economy could take a while!

    Interestingly, according to VW/Audi, they lose money on every Veyron they sold even with its high price tag. Basically they built this thing just to prove they could do it.

    I can totally believe that. If they build 300, the total review will be $420 million. That's less than the development cost of the current Honda Civic or Mazda3! I'd imagine they spent close to (or more than) $1 billion developing the Veyron and the W16 engine that it uses.

    The Veyron has been called the automotive equivalent of the "Concorde"....which also never made a profit, I don't think. But it was a marvel of engineering even 30+ years later and has yet to be out-classed by any newer aircraft!
