    Nope. 2400mt/s = 1200mhz aka 2400mhz ram.

I’m not exactly sure what the case is with ram. No idea why 2666 would be running at 2400. I will be contacting tech support to have this explained to me.

    Coil whine?

Could someone help confirm whether they get coil whine from their GS65? Here's a recording - heavily amplified (it's not really this high-pitched) - of the laptop with both fans at 0 RPM. I cannot hear it at all while the fans are on. I would describe it as a 'kinda-like-morse-code audible only in complete silence, or with your ear touching the middle of the keyboard'. It is reminiscent of a spinning hard drive in the distance.

If all GS65's do this, then I don't actually mind. If my GS65 is defective, then I'll go through the trouble of swapping it. Thanks for your help!

Finally got a chance to install CPU-Z. The specs on MSI's website says DDR4-2666 is supported but it looks like i need to get XMP enabled for it to work at that speed. I went back into the BIOS to double check but I don't see XMP anywhere. I sent MSI an email to see if there is anything I can do.

You ordered the DDR4/2666MHz Premium upgrade. MSI won't help. To correct whatever is going on, please contact our Tech Support Team using the instructions I emailed to you on May 17th.

"If you should ever need tech support or warranty service, please understand that I am not a technician, so it would be better to contact our Tech Support Team by phone at 888-666-3418 Extension 3, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, by email at Support@HIDevolution.com, or by Online Support Ticket at http://www.hidevolution.com/contacts/ (in the department dropdown menu select Zoltan S - Tech Support).

Please let me know if they don’t resolve your issue."

I was looking into Ripjaw's DDR4 3200 sodimm, but looks like the XMP is disabled in the BIOS, hopefully it gets solved tho!
