You forgot one thing... There is a difference between 18mm vs 22.8mm thickness. See +-24% thicker model. + Internal design can be different (NVMe ssd's is right below the keyboard in GS65 - and those run hot). And not forget... All hardware is put below MB and keyboard. What do you think it would be if the thickness have been shrinked 23% even more? As i said before.. it is what it is. Thinner models wont get better cooling.

How do you think this will work if you can increase all power limits (unlocked BGA)? https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-D...rocessor-now-available-in-Spain.303556.0.html

    Hello everyone.

I'm considering purchasing the MS GS65, however I am most likely looking to buy the version with the GTX 1060.
Both due to a significantly higher price on the 1070-MQ version in my country, but also because I'm hoping it might have better thermals.

I've been searching everywhere online, but I can't find any tests that are showing the thermals for the version with the 1060.

Does anybody here own the 1060 version, and if so, may I please ask you to upload some results on the thermals running various stress tests?
I'm very interested to see if there is a difference between the 1070MQ version and the 1060 version.

Or, maybe one of the resellers present here has a 1060 in stock, that they could test and share the results from?

    Any info is appreciated!

Based on my experience I would opt for a GTX 1060-based GS65 unless you are OK with using “Cooler Boost” fan profile all the time (extremely loud). I had great experiences with my 1060 thin & light laptops. I’ll probably stick with the 1160 when they release later this year or early 2019...

I found that during my gaming with the fans in 'advanced' mode, I set the fan speed % at the hottest level to an acceptable noise level to keep it at 85 degrees which is acceptable to me.

The throttling start before 90C. More like 85/86C. I mean some Asus models had the limits around 78/80C. Lower values means MSI hope for less RMA. Intel’s own specs ain’t worth a ****y!! Best possible thermal paste is a must.

What is the best way for me to check my temps? Is Firestrike Stress Test a good means?
