    Corona happened

    In all seriousness though this is what usually happens to threads on notebookreview.

    You got the hype phase when the product is announced at events like computer, the initial review phase, benchmark sharing rave phase, issue troubleshooting phase and then the thread slowly dies down

    I'm selling mine so I won't be contributing anymore. The GE75 has been my favorite BGA laptop I've ever had. I love the fan control, the design, the CPU/GPU capabilities but it's time for me to move on, I switch laptops like some people switch face masks.

    Thin out the herd (of laptops). I kinda had my fun and pushed it and enjoyed it. Like most of my other big laptops after the first few months it never left its perch at my desk setup. I sell them and then buy something new, it's a never ending cycle with me:D

    EDIT** Got in touch with MSI Support, their is no vbios update available for the 8SG.

    Hey guys! So I have a MSI GE75-8SG and was wondering if anyone has an updated vbios. The reason I ask is I have an Oculus Rift S on the way and have read about some pretty common issues regarding random black screens on the Rift S with MSI laptops. Maybe someone with an 8SG and the Rift S can ease my mind on the old vbios! Just trying to be pro-active prior to the Rift S arriving to ensure it works without issue out of the box. Thanks in advance!

    My current vbios is;

    90.04.3B.00.1F
    Build Date: 11/20/18.

    For reference from the Oculus support site:

    If you're experiencing a black screen or compatibility issue with your MSI laptop, try these troubleshooting steps:
    1. Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. Instructions for updating your graphics card drivers can be found here.
      • If the newest drivers don't solve the issue, please reach out to the MSI support team to update the VBIOS that enables HDCP on the DisplayPort

    Congrats on your purchase. MSI tech support would provide you that if you reach out to them. They would ask for SN and current VBIOS info in order to provide you with a matching one.
