I don't know what it was about 16:10, but it just seems more complete than 16:9...

Yeah, with Lenovo apparently pulling out of this market, "both" would be a more appropriate word.

And yes, both the 8760w and M6600 are 16:9.

Well Im working from home today and the 16:9 resolution on my SSH/VNC server is 16:9 and the screen at home is 16:10 and wow. Heres a screen shot I just had to take.

Its like watching a movie but instead Im working. :p

    I could too.

This is sad. Unless they up the resolution past 1080p thats just too much monitor for that resolution IMHO.

    16 ÷ 10 = 1.6
    The Golden Ratio, φ = 1.61803...
    pretty damn close

4 ÷ 3 = 1.333... (too tall, but better too tall than too wide)
    16 ÷ 9 = 1.777... (too wide)
    3 ÷ 2 = 1.5 (iPhone aspect ratio, pretty close to 16:10)

    Fibonacci <s>series</s>sequence: 0 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21...
    3:2, 8:5 (16:10)

EDIT: fixed post quote, was quoting wrong post

While comparable resolutions in 4:3 were better then 16:10, it was the full size keyboards in smaller platforms with 16:10 that made a nice difference.

Hrm good point. The X61 and the X61s had a funky Backspace due to the 4:3 screen. X20_ were an improvement with a normal sized keyboard.

This thread is now closed. A new one can be started, though the argument has been beaten to death at this point.
