I don't mind small font sizes, after all I have become used to UWXGA. All else equal I will almost always pick more pixels assuming, like this case, we have same resolution in one axis and more in the other. Of course I would rather they fit a 16:10 screen and give me 1680x1050. I do take advantage of the ability to do side by side windows so extra horizontal is nice. My disclaimer is that 1366 is still rather narrow for side by side.

I actually prefer 16:10 over 16:9 because truly, I think 16:9 limits my ability to create w/Photoshop, hell I have a 1680x1050 and at times when I'm designing layouts I wish it were longer, but that would just be impractical. I know I'm late joining this bandwagon only two years after this thread was made.

-> If I read the site correctly it is 16:9 - which gets criticized. -> Edit:
I didn't read to the bottom - yes the table get 16:10 :) which is good.

Engadget had a post about a Fujitsu - 2 models, one 16:9 one 16:10 - but rather pricey for underwhelming specs... 1GB of RAM was mentioned - nowadays??? And a projector instead of a DVD drive might be nice for some, but CDs are still in use - they are the most effective way of supplying data with documents - so it's a "so-so" situation, good for some, bad for others.

The 8760w was a huge disappointment.

First of all it was 1920x1200's last chance of staying alive, and second of all if HP can convince LCD panel manufacturers to make something as exotic as those DreamColor 2 RGBLED IPS panels, why can't they at least convince them to make them in a 2048x1152 flavor?

2048x1152 is better than 1920x1200 in my opinion, because although you lose 48 pixels of vertical space, you get seamless side-by-side window multitasking capability at the same time (2x1024 = 2048).

    2048x1152 is still 16:9 BTW...

And HP apparently couldn't convince 16:10 should stay alive for the 15" Elitebook as the 8540W was 16:9 with RGBLED + IPS

I thought it was confirmed all 17" mobile workstations were going to 17.3" and 16:9 (well W7x0 series is dead).

    I know it's 16:9 :p
I'm saying it's the minimum 16:9 needs to go in order to make up for the death of 1920x1200. I'd actually prefer 2048x1152 for its seamless side-by-side capability.

Yeah, I guess I could live with 2048x1152. Not a huge loss. But still, the aspect ratio pisses me off.
