Just finished going through everything from Microsoft's event. Their new devices are awesome. Lots of needed updates to all platforms and very useful systems now. Good on you MS!

Planned obsolescence is great ain't it. At least apple supports their products longer than Microsoft does. Oh but you don't like planned obsolescence so you rather trash apple for it.

Please tell that to my 2007 macbook that's a paperweight. Some sucker bought it for 200 bucks. My 2007 acer 7720 is still running perfectly with the latest w10 on it. STILL SUPPORTED FOR ANOTHER 5 YEARS. Please. you have no clue what you are spewing. So, in review, Microsoft is moving to a new platform. HOWEVER, they are still supporting their old platform for 5 more years, Something apple does NOT do. They shut the door immediately on their loyal followers to make sure they have to buy a new device to get further updates. UNLIKE Microsoft. MS supports their older platforms for years after releasing new ones.
Please, do some reading and research before spewing garbage you know nothing about.

Again, you can’t run windows 11 on a machine with a processor older than 2-3 years. Good luck with that. 5 years?? October 2025 is not 5 years off.

Apple still supports their old platforms back to 6-8 years. do you never research anything??

I need to know what kind of SSD to buy for my upcoming Surface Pro 8 since I want to upgrade. I didn't realize the microSD card reader was gone when I bought a 256GB SSD.

you will need a 2230. They are cheap but all are gen 3 I can find. I would probably bite the bullet and order the size you want when you purchase the surface. They may come with Gen 4?

It's already too late for that. That's why I asked. I don't know the microSD card slot was gone, but this is way cheaper than the upgrade, which would force an i7 on top of the storage.

I've already purchased the SSD. I bought a 1TB. I will upgrade as soon as the tablet arrives.

My Surface Pro 8 has arrived. I'm currently creating the recovery drive so that I can perform the SSD upgrade.
