There were reports that it was possible with setfsb also, finding the post may be hard though :')

throttlestop NEEDS to be included right NOW. I just used throttlestop to overclock my ES Q9100 from 2.26ghz all the way up to 3.06 ghz!

    EDIT:
    Increased voltage to 1.4, now I get 3.3Ghz @ 12x!

    Hmmm the 640,

    Throttlestops gone far and SETFSB,

Will start looking into bringing the tread up to speed.

    Cheers
    Cata.

Certain its do-able with throttle stop.

Using Memset to push my timings back to original values (USELESS ADVENT)

Back at 5-5-5-15 instead of 5-6-6-18 LOL, they gave me ram they found in an alley, maybe now my 4850 will remain more stable!

Need some proper OC ram, thinking of blasting on the q9000.

Do i also bother with flash upgrading my 4850 o_O (Its outdate also :D)!

hello there im from the philippines and didn't read forums before buying my laptop. i bought a msi cx420 i5 with the standard 2gb ram and ati radeon hd 5470 vid card. i saw a post that it's not a good gaming laptop or not at all so I want to overclock. can i follow the steps you posted for the other model to my own laptop in terms of overclocking or do i need to do a different step in overclocking? hope for a swift reply thank you

Sorry guys, haven't been here a while, work has taken my life over! Quite drastically.

Trex, i know you'l never see this but i'ma post it anyway haha,

These steps should work, the GPU anyway should be overclockable, the I5 will probably need other OC steps however which could be bios related, TS related, FSB i don't think will cut it.

Any of the old members still around? How are your machines doing?? Advent 6555 is still functional! i spuilt brake fluid on it :S keyboard died but replaced it yesterday!

Also purchased a new M17Xr3, i know i know not MSI, but i don't like the direction and flashness of the new models, i just loved the discreteness of the older ones! so i thought if i were to go flashy (Like alot of gaming laptops) i'd go for one i'd always loved! :D.

Any newer machine members, i would encourage you guys to post your results here and the tools/methods you have used to achive, this thread really did show the best of our machines at the time! :D
