    sorry, sir

At least @Arrrrbol’s AW is one of the real Alienware’s:) Socketed Hardware... Not as today’s Alienware’s with welded on hardware + the well known 3 legs heatsink exactly as the rest of Dell’s notebooks. Oh’well

    Back to Clevo P870DM-G:oops:

While we're of topic I just bought two alienware 18's for £600 both have black screen issues but are in brand new condition, have the protective stickers on them and everything. Does anyone know anything about this issue @Arrrrbol have you encountered this issue?

I have a feeling I will have to replace the motherboards, lucky I work in a repair shop where supplies are cheap Lol.

I will do the 4k mods on these and I will put one up for sale on the forum, let me know if your interested... both will have gtx 1070 sli, 4940mx, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd etc.

AFAIK no MXM-B form factor 1070 cards have SLI connectors.

Those are MSI 1070 cards which already have SLI connector. They are non standard form factor and won't fit in the Alienware.

Yes and I have to find these cards, modify the housing/heatsink and put the cards in. I have already tested one card inside and it worked even with the lvds connector!

    A) there's *something* inbetween the gpu output and the lvds port, pascal does not do lvds. Optimus/iGPU? eDP->LVDS converter (like GT83)?
    B) msi 1070 w/ sli are annoying to find because they look identical down to pcb printing as the non sli, most sellers just list by part number you have to trawl through their photos and then directly confirm with them, through google translate on taobao etc etc... Hassle.
    C) still not p870dm related FTLOG START A NEW THREAD

    A) Yes lol the igpu, still surprises me the screen wasn't blank. 4k edp mod incoming! All those mxm pins and yet some of them aren't used lol.
    B) Already found two from my own supplier on Aliexpress, charging around £350 for each card which is $460
    C) Ok I should have done that a while ago...
