Sooo another 1070m:
People what do you think about power section?
That one seems to have been in the wild for a while now
Unreliable. @mirage_bg had one and it died on him.
Correct, MSI 1070 is way more reliable
That's the Zotac and not the GeForced Quadro board (which I guess is what you are talking about). Running mine for two and a half years @90W (stock).
Yes, mine was the black quadro's P5000 PCB with GTX 1070 on it. But I've heard bad things for Zotac 1070 too, especially its VRMs quality...not your case exactly as you are using it @90W.
The zotac card has been the card of choice for AW17 R1 since you dont need any hardware mods, and while I havent been as active as I once was I havent seen any threads detailing dead cards yet.
The MSI 1070 is indeed "better" but I have seen more failures on that front due to lack of active cooling on the VRM as they are more densely packed compared to the standard layout.
Do you, guys , think there will be some Chinese MXM-B Frankensteins with GTX 2070 on it? Like 1070?
It would be pity if GTX 1070 is the last standard MXM...
There is the almost MXM RTX5000 from HP, shunt mod that to 120-130W and it might provide a pretty nice performance boost compared to the 1070, then again, you can TDP mod the 1070 VBIOS..
Hmm, the holes holding the card to the mobo are located differently...
I don’t think I can mount it at all this way...
