so.... i got the black dell 1070m.
flashed it to msi and still am lost as to what to add to the inf files to get the nvidia driver working.

uaing p377sm-a screen can be over clocked to 120hz. so not sure why i am not getting output
    from the internal screen.
could someone pm me and walk me through this?

As for driver mods I just take the closest desktop ID and mod it to whatever I am installing a driver for. In your case I would modify nvdispi.inf to contain the device ID for the notebook 1070 instead of the desktop 1070. By modding the desktop mvdispi.inf file you don't have to worry about subsystem ID.

Isn't the sm-a series LVDS only? That will never work with a 1070.

It works I just get Microsoft basic display.even after adding the hardware id with the lite mod drivers.

I used the tool in the lite drivers found here on the forums to insert the hardware I'd for my card. Still reverts to basic display adapter after the driver install.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi, post GPU-Z screenshot :)

edit : if he have the 120Hz "3D" display, it's already using eDP, I don't think a 4 lane LVDS could ouput 1080p at 120Hz without issue

that was taken before the driver installed.
now that the driver is installed the card shows up in device manager. Windows however stops the card from working and doesn't say why reverts back to basic display. I've checked the logs and nothing says it shouldn't be working.
but if someone could mod an inf file for me i'll send a donation their way.
if anyone has this card what vbios was flashed on it to get it to properly work, right now it has the latest msi vbios.

    not using the 3d panel.
i can post the exact model with HW64 when i get home.

    Replace this line in nvcvi.inf
    By this line
DDU every nvidia drivers and install them again with the modded inf file
If your card display something on your internal display it's only because you have an eDP display or optimus running or very unlikely you forgot to remove one of your old GPU (that support LVDS), except in your case P377SM-A doesn't support optimus and I don't think your forgot to remove your old GPU :)

Below that line or replace that line?

And what about vbios, am I good to go with what's installed?

Replace it to avoid conflict, your vbios is one of the latest 1070 MSI mobile vbios, might not be a good choice because it's very recent (BIOS Build date : 2019-06-10) and might run into issue with old hardware as yours, however I'm not a clevo specialist at all to tell you what vbios should be working in your laptop.

1060 will work with LVDS so theoretical it should work.
