    So it’s an adaptor that connect from an internal MXM slot to an external pcie adaptor?

    If that's the case surely it would an x16 considering MXM is using x16 @ PCI 3.0 unless they are using a chip that only allows x8.

    A baby step would be x1 @3.0, toddler step is x4 @ 3.0. x8 is a teenager step.

    im sure the bandwidth limitations as with eGPUs via TB would be basically non-existent, only CPU bottleneck left to deal with :)

    Correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand you can only external screen with this adapter.

    On a laptop like the Alienware M18xR2 you can enable optimus mode (SG) so I'm assuming internal display would work potentially at that point.

    On the alienware 18 you can use one of those headless hdmi Adapter's and just boot normally with the use of an external screen of course.

    Was nicely done in the forums not too long ago
