    could you confirm that the green 1070 you have for offer at ebay is manufactured or designed by GeCube or not?

    82x105mm MXM3 1060 and 1070 GPU modules are Eurocom specific designs as far as I know. We designed them for laptops not desktops. Same as RX580 and RX480.

    You can upgrade to 1060 or 1070 providing that your LCD panel is eDP.

    GTX 980m 8Gb $396 or gtx 1060 6gb $562 ?

    1060 has better performance over the 980M.

    I wonder if ill need to mod the heatsink still to install the Eurocom 1070 into an Alienware 17 Ranger.

    The 1060 has better performance and power efficiency but the 980m has the potential for an unlocked bios and the ability to overclock much better. The 1060 performance is within 10% to 15% of a stock 1060 and when you properly overclock a 980m it can overtake it. If you can get one for around $300 I would recommend the 980m otherwise the 1060 is fine but they are practically the same.
