Is the Eurocom GeForce GTX 1070 125W or is it 150W?
it won't matter since you'll be modding the vBIOS anyway.
Well, it does matter to me, I asked Eurocom, wont give me an answer instead they are more interested in what kind of laptop I have and what colour the sky is.
All the ones I seen on eBay, taobao and ali is 150W TDP but now someone says its 115W - 125W?
maybe download @Coolane's tool and any 1070 notebook vbios from techpowerup and see what the TDP is set to.
I'd also be interested in this tool, I flashed the latest msi vbios I could find to my zotac card
1070 was never 150W.
it is either 115W or 125W depending on whether it is a MSI card or Clevo card.
(im talking about Official vbios of course uneditted)
How about upgrading P775DM1? Still it's immposible? And how about Premas bios for Kabylake?
you can't do the MSI 1070 for sure, only the MSI 1060. that's the only one that will fit into the laptop.
If you're coming from the 980DT then it's not worth the money. But if you're coming from the 980M then you'll see a boost and maybe a bit better if you modded the vBIOS.
I've got 980m with 8GB, You think 1060 will be faster? It fits but where can I buy MSI 1060 working with Clevo? Do I have to change GPu bios? Where can I get modded vBios?
The 1060 is faster than the 980M by 15% in FS scores. If you think that's good then buy it.
Average FS graphics scores on NBC.net:
980M - 9695.5
1060 (Laptop) - 11428.6
1060 (Desktop) - 12816
980 (Laptop) - 13111.2
With a modded vBIOS that has the same TDP as the desktop 1060 and you should be able to match the graphics scores with the notebook 1060. Stock 1060 laptop is 78W and stock 1060 desktop is 120-140W going from the vbios files I looked at. Add an OC on top and you'll probably be close enough to match a 980 laptop score....still pretty good for that card I say.
You'll need a chip programmer like the rest of us in order to flash the modded vBIOS.
It should fit into the P775DM1 considering it's the stock form factor.
If you think the price is worth it then by all means and buy it.
