Which set did you get? I remember you being quite fond of LG's webOS smart TV implementation so... fingers crossed! :D

I would have never taken you for a leather camouflage slacks and suspenders sort of person.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must make my way to the midwest and pull the breakers at HALs house.

65" LG NON-Curved OLED. Probably the best picture quality I've ever witnessed in person. It's that good.

Curved TV's can burn in a fire. If that's where the market is going in the future, I'll be buying projectors from here on out.

EDIT: Really, I've been going back and re-watching all my blurays again because it's like a whole new experience... all over again. Like, right now I'm watching the 1994 Stargate 15th Anniversary Remaster and it's almost better than the theater. The subtle whispers in the music from the chanting is coming from the rear and side presence speakers and it's creepy as hell. It adds a whole new layer to watching a movie. I just can't say enough good things about this Yamaha receiver. It's the RX-V681 if anyone is looking for a new one. I highly HIGHLY recommend it.

Agree wholeheartedly. Almost seems like curved TVs started out as a gimmicky status symbol, since it first arrived on OLEDs that were very expensive, and was a striking differentiation from regular sets. Good for bragging rights during parties, not in practice. The only application where a subtly curved panel makes sense to me is an ultra wide gaming monitor, since you're always sitting perfectly in the middle, and it replaces a tripple monitor setup with a window effect caused by the bezels in between. In theory, you can have a screen where every point of the screen has an equal distance to an eye, the flaw being that we're not immobile cyclopses.
