Arteries be damned! It's not often I get a large breakfast like that, but once in awhile it's great. Country fried steak, OE eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy is my choice for a heavy breakfast. And the English breakfast is another artery clogger:

My all time favorite breakfast though is Dim Sum.

What I consider one of the healthier and most satisfying breakfasts is Chao Chow noodle soup. Endless variations with wantons, dumplings, egg or rice noodles, and different bits of meat. I could eat this all the time, anytime.

Yeah -I'm not getting anything done at all until like 1:00p.m. that day.

^^^ I've had better beer, but none I like more than Guinness. Had some of this a few days ago and loved it as well:

    Lamb Stew

Shoulder cuts were on sale for $2 per pound. The key is to trim as much fat off the lamb (lamb fat smells) and to cool the stew to a point where the fat can be skimmed off the top. Cubed and browned with some star anise, clove, cumin, coriander, onion, garlic, S&P. Chicken stock added and let simmer in the Dutch oven for an hour- plus. Then added parsnips, turnip, carrot, celery, leeks, wax potatoes, and mushrooms. Simmered for another hour and added a generous amount of parsley at the end.

    Thanksgiving Peking Duck

For those who've never had this, it's served in two courses. First, they carve thin medallions of skin with a little of the meat underneath. You put it in freshly made buns with hoisin sauce and thinly sliced scallions. On a duck, it's all about the skin and these bites are to die for. The rest of the duck meat is served on a separate plate.

Crab meat and fish maw soup. Fish maw is their swim bladder.

    Made Italian Rice Balls.

Used pork neck bones and made a stock. Reduced the stock to a demi glaze and added to a tomato sauce with lots of fresh basil. Used the pork neck meat, Serrano ham, onions, garlic, herbs (first sauteing), then added the rice. Pressed into shape, then covered in flower, egg wash, and bread crumbs. Fried until golden. Went with bok choy softly sauteed in butter for some veggie.
