Huh? Those ladyfinger biscuits look completely dry. Soak them in coffee & liqeuer, I say!
You're right. But you try to find a better pic on the interwebz.
Gave out some of my beef jerky to a group of people and they couldn't stop talking about it. What I dislike about store bought (besides the price), is if you get peppered it's too peppered, and teriyaki is far too sweet. Mine has a happy medium.
Beef flap meat pounded and cut. Honey (heavy amount), brown sugar, molasses, balsamic vinegar, powdered onion (generous amount), black (heavy amount), white, and red pepper, soy, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. 160 degrees for five hours.
Haven't posted many of my own pics. Dinner for tonight: Roasted chicken, potatoes, onions, and red cabbage.
Duck legs are dry-brined and braised in an aromatic stock, then shredded and mixed with armagnac and spices and sealed into a serving dish with duck fat to make a delectable spread for a toasted baguette. Purchased locally.
Also a couple of pâtés. One with black truffles and morels.
Crab and Fish Maw Soup
Fish maw is the swim bladder of a fish. Had it again yesterday. Delicious.
Fish, fish, and more fish.
Monchong and Ahi poke, sashimi, seared, and grilled. Crabcake burger as well.
Also picked up some Warabi which is the tips of the fiddlehead fern at a farmers market and sauted it. Never had it before. Rare and pricey in the mainland, but inexpensive and abundant here.
That poke sounds like a good idea to me. Too bad I'm in Georgia!
Sounds like you're in Hawaii. I just moved back to the mainland from Oahu and I miss it, big time. Especially the seafood.
While in Hawaii, I picked up and baked a breadfruit from a veggie/fruit stand which I never had. Quite tasty. Similar to a yam or sweet potato but with a fruit finish.
Besides the fish, it was all about the fruit. Soursop (shown), star fruit, lychee, longan, passion fruit, rambutan, and papaya. Mango was past season.
Had some really good country fried steak (with mashed potatoes, creamed corn, roll, and gravy) at a place in Alexander City AL.
Just finished eating too much at a little place called Home Plate Cafe in Dadeville AL. I ordered fried eggs, conecuh sausage, sausage patties, toast, grits, pancake, and biscuits and gravy. Amazing.
