Ok this is coming from a guy using a notebook for the first time in his life...

People talk about recharging to 100% the first time and 95% every time after that, where can I adjust the recharge limit to achieve this? I'm using a Thinkpad T400 and nothing in the Lenovo or Windows help file has it...

    Thanks

You would have to use the Lenovo Power Manager software. Provided that you didn't do a clean install without installing those tools, there should be a battery gauge in your taskbar. Right click the gauge, and click "Launch Power Manager". After launch, click on the "Battery" tab and then click the "Battery Maintenence" button to change thresholds.

There are no dumb questions. We're all born ignorant and only by asking and learning will you be able to find a solution. If you have a question, chances are other people have asked that question and you would also be able to find out the solution via the search bar in the top right hand corner.

The only dumb questions are the ones that you know the answers to already..... Which I ask my family members on purpose just to annoy them ;)

Ryan314: Perhaps these people you heard were referring to laptop battery disintegration? During a battery's lifetime, the charge capacity reduces.

Or maybe you want to see actually the percentage of a full charge that the battery is actually holding? If you are using Windows Vista, you should see on the taskbar a little icon that looks like an electrical plug. Put the mouse cursor over it and it should tell you the status of the charging process. Hope this helps.

My little brother is always asking stupid annoying and repetitive questions that he already knows the answers to...Don't be surprised if one of your family members rips your head off next time you ask a "dumb" question;)
