    I got a tab s 8.4 t700 with cracked glass.

Got a quote for repair and it's 200 USD. For that price I could buy 2 more t700 if I was patient. I generally repair my own things but I don't have a heat gun as Samsung I guess opted to glue the glass to the digitizer.

Does this seem high for a quote? The glass can be found on ebay for 12 USD I just can't fathom labor to be 182 USD.

If this is the norm for tablet repair, please let me know. It's the first time ever looking into this as my nexus 2012 is still running just fine so never needed to dabble in this avenue.

    Thanks guys

It's the norm for tablets and glued together thin and lights. Not sane design for repair technicians.

Tried fixing it, screen broke and threw it away. Bought it for 100 USD, wasnt worth 200 to fix.

The repair cost is high because the screen is glued to the glass and takes a bit of time to remove.

Ugh that sucks. Never good feeling when you try to fix something and it doesn’t go your way. Done it too many times to count myself.

Ok I guess that makes sense. Shame it’s built like that.

Well I stopped using it when the glass cracked so it was effectively valueless anyways. Was a bummer at the time but no hard feelings when I broke it further lol

    Ill get something else eventually

I have the tab s 10.5" the oled panel + digitizer + glass are all one unseparated part, Samsung call this "Super Oled" to reduce the thickness of the tablet but this increase the price of replacement.

If you could buy a faulty tablet but with a good screen, you could pay to have the screen swapped with yours.

But the Samsung Tab S is now 4 year old so you can find second hand ones for $150+
