Greetings, does anyone know what all is different between the touch and non-touch versions of the T490s?
I haven't been able to find any pictures of the touch version. Is it just the screen itself or does it have a different lid assembly with overlying digitizer?

I don't have any specifics about the T490s, but typically the touch version would be thicker due to the glass surface used for the touch surface. This likely means you'll likely need to replace more than the screen.

The only "touchscreen" 490 (not the s) that I have seen did not have one which is why I was confused. It looked exactly like the normal screen without the glass digitizer. I thought I had heard something about it being built into the screen itself, but I can't remember where I heard that.

As you say, all the other computers with touchscreen's I have upgraded had either a completely different lid assembly with a glass digitizer panel that overlaid the screen. But it has been a few years since I messed with one.

Edit: Touch on cell is what it was called. I think the 480 series had it also
