Looks like Phoenix finally woke up. They finally have a BIOS that hands control of the hardware over to the OS in less than a second. The video shows a T400s, with SSD, booting Windows 7 in under 10 seconds.

Here’s to hoping Lenovo makes this BIOS available on all current models! Then again, I mostly just put my system to sleep and rarely need to boot it!

    That's actually very exciting!
When I started using Win7 on my desktop about 5 months ago the quick boot-up was very noticeable and welcomed.

I would definitely like that. It takes my x200 Tablet with Win7 and SSD less time to cold boot Windows than it does to clear the BIOS screens.

That would be nice but I think it is something that they just released on a new chipset.. New Bios and USB3 should be nice. I just wonder when USB3 will be available on Thinkpads?

It does take a lot off time to load up bios to the vista loading screen... I believe its software thing.

That is certainly impressive. I wonder though, if you need to access the bios, how would one go about that?
