Truth is, most of the planes (at least all airliners) have an onboard watches as a standard equipment, so such watches aren't such a big necessity. It's just basically like with aviator glasses, just to show off :D.

    It's like a calculator watch of the 1980's... :p

They could re-label it as the Carpe Diem watch, is that an upper? :p

I have problems hanging onto watches since I've never really been comfortable with them so I end up taking them off often and losing them - including Breitling / Rolex / etc. So these days, cheap watches only - which going with Murphy's Law, tends to stick around a lot longer, and even then I don't really wear them often.

e.g. I still have my re-issued Roger Tallon LIP Chronograph, which may look a bit Fisher-Price but I like it.

I was drooling over watches tonight so I thought I'd share some of my favorites (currently don't own any of these)

The Omega (Speedmaster Professional) was chosen by NASA for space flight, including moon missions. It was also used to help save Apollo XIII when the ships timer malfunctioned (with a lot of other stuff). It was used for the critical task of timing burns.

And that Russian watch (Strela) was their space watch, and was the first watch worn on a space walk.

    Imposters?

^^^You have a Russian and a German watch in there ;)
Although that Strela watch looks good. Another watch I saw in aviation magazine.

Well, the German watches (Stowa and Tutima) use Swiss movements. The Strela is the only one with no Swiss parts.

Which models did you own/lose? I don't ever plan to buy a Rolex, but I wouldn't mind stumbling across a lost Submariner or Daytona!
