    Hi i have the 1700 acer aspire and the 1620lmi and i have to admit that the 1620 with the ati radeon 9600 is much much much better than the gforce FxGo5600. I bought the 1700 for a good desktop performance and now i am working on the 1620 - i am very interest to find a way to improve the 1700 beast - but i cannot find any resources --- is there any way ?
    thx
    alex

    ps. I have played some games with the 1700 and a i have a terrible problem with the blink video - i dont quite get since i remember watching perfect video with a TNT before 7 years --- am i crazy? or something is going very wrong ...

    You would have to get it from Acer, they are the only ones with a compatible form-factor. Everything from the card size to the interface shape would be different. As for alexspy, get the latest drivers and see what that changes.

    * Inspiron 8600c * 1.8ghz Pentium M * 128 MB Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo * 2x512 MB DDR2700 SDRAM * 60GB 7200RPM HDD *

    Hi again!
    I have download both the acer version of the driver and the nvidia drivers.But that doesn't change anything. I think that there is a rumor or truth that nvidia doesn't support new drivers for the geforceFXgo5600 and that you need a new driver from the laptop provider- any way both drivers doesn't solve anything.I have downloaded every driver for the 1700 from agp to the bios upgrade - If the problem has to do with special 3d effects and routines such as pixel shader or something more advance it is ok. But bink video?? I think it is a software problem - i have tried 2 or 3 games with that kind of video and it was always the same, a lot of drop frames and gaps with the sound?- while i am working with 3d applications 3dsmax,autocad and i dont have a single problem even with performance (in a reasonable frame of work) i have problem with games - both in 3d and video- i don't understand it - i think that i am missing something -
    thx
    alex
