I'm interested in the 9570. The multiple delays have me concerned.
My wants have evolved since getting a taste of VR. The 9570 probably won't support a vive or other solution. I'm between having a dedicated gaming device for VR and having a ultraportable with a 14" screen. Marrying the two into one would be the pinnacle of what I'm looking for.

I was going for the new Dell XPS 15 9570 with the i7-8750h... and I cancelled my order after reading about prior XPS 15 laptops with throttling problems, still no cooling redesign by Dell, and frankly Frank Azor's comments on twitter not directly answering the question.

Back to my OP - are there any good coffee lake laptops that don't suffer from poor designs/build quality? Or am I better off going with i7-8560u or i7-7700hq laptops for virtualization?

Gigabyte Aero 15/15X, MSI GS65 or the Clevo P950EP6/ER.

I checked those out and they are nice. However, I don't really need that much graphics performance. I'd rather have less GPU, more CPU, and battery life when I need it. I like gaming but I've got consoles plus a desktop for the heavy stuff. The 1050 TI is more than sufficient for turn based strategy and civ/city sim games

Thank you and everyone else for your suggestions!
