Am I the only one who thinks the speakers in the W8 are really bad? My sound is very low volume, and vibrates/rattles a lot. Does anyone else who has this model think the speakers are really bad (even for a laptop)? Or have I got defective speakers?

Generally speaking the single downward-firing mono speaker in the W8 is not going to impress anyone. I turned mine all the way up but didn't detect any rattling although there was a fair amount of vibration.

MONO??!! Duh... for a laptop with those specs, I would have expected stereo, even if it isn't well defined stereo for that matter. What was Panny thinking??!!

My major complaint with my CF-F8 was the sound quality
You sacrifice sound quality for portability

Stereo, mono, does it make a difference on most laptops? Really I found the CF-29's mono speaker to be better than many laptops because it simply worked better. One good speaker is worth more than two bad ones.

The W8 isn't good but really, it wasn't much worse than the lousy sound on my Dell M4400 and is much better than my Toshiba netbook.

The W8 is a business-class laptop so hi-fi quality stereo sound was not a priority I guess.

Now you know what that "Headphone Jack" (Item "I", Page 12) on the front is for. ;)

If it's not stereo, why <> do the Operating Instructions say "Use a condenser-stereo microphone." (Page 39, Footnote #22)? ;)

It could have mono output to the speaker and have stereo input via the microphone.
