I test the Windows 8.1 Pro x64 RTM and all seems normal but after reboot no WiFi, no Internet, no working Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN adapter (the device can't start).
In the device manager 2-3 more unknown devices but without Internet i can't try to fix this problems.
    Any ideas? any help please...
    Thanks

    PS
This is a known problem from Windows 8.1 Preview and old WiFi adapters, but no solution from MS until now. On RTM edition i hope the MS to fix. If any user have the same problem please post here.

Get a newer one :D Seriously, you'll get more up-to-date, more efficient card as well as wider range and they cost like $40 for 7260AC! So why not?

    PS
This cheaper cards is compatible with my laptop?
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_o...tel+Dual+Band+Wireless+mini+PCI+card&_sacat=0

all the half mini (express) with bracket and mini pci cards fits?

It should work, but I'm yet to buy it and try it. I'm using Intel Ultimate-N 6300 flawlessly :) Just look not to be HP, or Lenovo, since they wont work for you.

Same problem with same notebook model (Acer Aspire 5920). This problem not is in wireless adapter. Is in drivers and i see more peoples with same problem on 5920 with Windows 8.1.

And i have another problem with Windows 8.1 with my external USB HD not recognized correctly.

I give a vote of trust to Windows 8.1 but i really angry with this system. Microsoft again making $R*@! with their systems.

I will back to Windows 7.

Sorry for my bad english, not is my native language.

Just testing my new (from ebay) Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 and nothing good.
The same problem on windows 8.1, in device manager, wifi card can't start to work, problem (yellow mark, no drivers or can't start work) on 2 pci devices and the intel communication device. Maybe this is mobo drivers problem?
    So what can i do?
NO windows 8.1 on my laptop?

And i have problem (yellow mark, no drivers but i can't find...) with Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 in device manager but the same time works normal the second device Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN.
    What means all this?
    Please help me...

They are two separate chips I guess - WiMAX and WiFi that is. Are you able to use WiFi in this case?

In device manager appear 2 wifi devices:
    1) Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 with problem (yellow mark, no drivers, no way!) don't work.
    2) Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN, this one works normal and i have WiFi / Internet.

After installation of new wifi card the orange light (ON/OFF wifi adapter) ights up continuously (ςηεν ςιφι ΟΝ), νο flashing...Why?

    see this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiMAX

    edit
    i find this drivers
    http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/NE...iver-75100726-Upgrade-for-Windows-8-x64.shtml
and now fix it and i have more 2 devices:
    1) Intel(R) Centrino(R) WiMAX 6250 Function Driver
    2) Intel(R) Centrino(R) WiMAX 6250

I don't know how this adapters work and if is wireless adapter, help me...

thanks for your answer, but please tell me your opinion for this:
"Just testing my new (from ebay) Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 and nothing good.
The same problem on windows 8.1, in device manager, wifi card can't start to work, problem (yellow mark, no drivers or can't start work) on 2 pci devices and the intel communication device. Maybe this is mobo drivers problem?
    So what can i do?
NO windows 8.1 on my laptop?"

I don't quite get your question. If it doesn't work after fresh boot, just press the WiFi button. You said that WiFi is working. I don't know why you took the WiMAX version, do you need it? Even if you do, most require SIM card and there is no place that you can put it in, so you'll have to use external device. Is it this what you are asking?

The question is can i have windows 8.1 on my laptop?
All the other is just information for my case.
I am not sure if i need really this WiMAX or if this works normal, but this is not the point.
The point is the windows 8.1 on my laptop.....
