    Hello,

This is a fully working, functional machine, been gaming on it up until as of writing this listing. I list it as for parts as it may not be in the condition you want. Look at the pics.

    What I did:
    - It's an LG IPS 60hz panel. The original panel was wide gamut TN. About .5mm of the top screen is covered by the case, took some effort to get it to fit in there. So it's not a perfect fit.

The rear back panel has massive holes above the fan, Thought it would improve airflow. It's not pretty. This laptop has essentially been used as a desktop.

i74790K is delidded. You can mess with that. It's using Noctua thermal paste, you can try using liquid metal if you want.

So it is fully functional, but I priced this based on the parts if you decide to use it as parts.

I will install hardly used ADATA 256 GB SSD and leave the 1TB drive

Does it have the Prema BIOS for the laptop? Also, is the screen 75HZ?

It is not G-Sync. It is G-Sync ready if you happen to know how to flash the 980M to a G-Sync version, never found a way. But the motherboard on it supports G-Sync version. I can install Windows 10 Pro on it, I'm not using that product key anymore. I have different key for each machine.

I have a 970m that is G-Sync but that card may be my problem. Any idea of shipping cost to the DC area?

How did the delidded 4790K do for your temps? Mine is stock.

i'm assuming if i wanted that 980m to work on an alienware 18 i'd need to flash it's vbios right, if so is that hard to do?

I believe you would have to flash your BIOS to non-G-sync version to use a non-gsync 980M.
