You can buy the screen for $84.99 from the CDSParts Google Express storefront. If it's your first order, you can use a 20% off coupon code, bringing the price down to ~$70 shipped.
Then use this video to swap it out! :)

It's basically a mod HIDevolution does so you can reset the CMOS without having to take the whole motherboard out as the battery would normally be under the keyboard but due to the extension it is right under the m.2 hard drives.

This is exactly what I did. It should be noted, though, that there is adhesive between the screen and bezel, which makes removing the latter a bit more difficult. This isn't shown in the video linked above. As such, you're all but guaranteed to snap off a couple of the tiny plastic retention clips. However, because they're small, there are a lot of them, so losing a few isn't the end of the world. With my system, you wouldn't even know they were missing. My only real worry was getting the ribbon cable connected back to the motherboard because it's kind of fragile. Just make sure you power up the machine before getting the bezel back in place so you can be sure everything is working. The whole process took less than 15 minutes, and the result was well worth the time, effort, and expense.

I would do $1,800 with no cooling pad or carrying case. :)
