This, i want all of this!!
Yeah E sata is quick as hell I dont even notice its external!
Did you get an invisible or cloaked case SoccerThierry? LOL sorry had to go there I don't notice a difference in speed, but I do notice it.
So far we've had the makings of the world's best single card computer:
I think we are pretty satisfied with the chassis so keep this plus Alienfx possible expansion to keyboard with numpad.
Edge to edge 16" screen.
Choice of AMD (calling it that as they have now axed the Ati trademark) 6xxx GPUs or nvidia 470m gtx.
Intel Extreme Processors sitting on unlocked fsb/bios/tdp etc
Tweakable voltages (how about a power brick with a voltage dial on it?)
USB 3.0, expansion bay.
And just for fun I'll throw in hardware sound card (x-fi etc)
HDMI(horrible its not on a system of this size) and a little better battery life. Not expecting alot but 3 hours should be possible. Few more USB ports. Do something with the mouse pad.
docking station which has:
* another gfx card to enable crossfire
* a seperate HDD
* fans for better cooling
I like your style Wattos! That is a wicked idea, portability on the go, power on the desk!
That's pretty much a M17x LOL minus a couple things...
Now that Sager has their NP-8-Whatever-Number model offering a GTX 470 in a 15.6" Chassis I think the only question is a matter of "when" for a 15x refresh.
Will they refresh before the Holiday Buying Season or wait until Sandy Bridge after the new year?
Things you can pretty much expect on the next 15x -
1) USB 3.0 (two ports at least)
2) FHD screen (not the 900p)
3) GTX 470 or the new ATI 6xxx (refuse to call them AMD ).
-AW might be "bold" enough to try for a 480 single card, but I just don't think that a 15 or 16 inch chassis has enough power or cooling available to handle that frying pan
4) Number Pad (If MSI, Sager, and ASUS can do it, so can AW)
5) Usual AFX goodie lighting bag.
Anything else (maybe a subwoofer? Improved audio like the Dynaudio GX660/GT663?) is pretty much speculation and will surprise.
AW might go for broke though. From what I've read, dual 460s can theoretically run cooler than a single 480. Not to mention who knows what the ATI 6xxx series will run at for thermals. Is it possible? AW could slam two GPUs in a 15/16 inch chassis and be the first. But I have a feeling that the people at Clevo have something up their sleeve as well.
Anyway, interesting stuff! Always the problem, you want to hold out, but at a certain point you need to get something "now"
