Yep the 460m runs strong. She's overclocked big time and never goes over 68c. So I'll make a decision on a 680/780m in the next week or so.

Ok so I've made the decision on getting the 780m, just because the fact it's a little cheaper than the 680m pricewise... So I have the Unlocked A12 BIOS installed already due to the failed 765m install. I should have the new gpu in about a week and a half or so, Micky I know you know about the 680m front to back and I know the cards are somewhat similar. Would you mind helping me when it arrives? Just trying to make this work for me as easy as possible lol, my record is 0-1 installing gpu's and would absolutely appreciate the help!! Thanks for helping me with my miserably failed attempt with the 765m, I would of been lost without you!! Thanks in advance!! :notworthy:

No problem, keeps the brain active .

Just hit me up with a PM and include machine model and current status, working GPU? Also a shot of the bios screens will jog my memory for what will need to be done.

Will save me bunch of backtracking when it arrives;).

I have the 460m installed at the moment running like a champ, I'm on an i7-2630QM in turbo mode, I have 16GB RAM(I've seen a lot of R3's with 8GB RAM, maybe the previous owner upgraded?) GPU core at 850, memory at 1565, I get artifacts if any higher while gaming. Max temp under heavy load/4-5hrs of constant gaming is 68c. I assume that's GREAT performance out of the almost a decade old card. I sent the 765m back to the seller on eBay and I just received the refund as of today minus the 20% restocking fee which I'm totally fine with. I will definitely send pics and let you know any information that would be helpful.

I'm curious, what games are you playing on a 460m and how well do they run? I assume you're playing older games but, but then again you could surprise me.

I only play pubg on super low settings... I'm getting 25/30fps average.

Interesting. Considering how underpowered the 460m is and PUBG's horrid optimization, I'm impressed it runs at all.

Exactly lol. I was afraid to spend the money on the game at first, but it's playable lol. Can't wait to get the 780m. Hopefully it's like night and day.

Based on Notebookcheck's benchmarks at stock the 780m is over 5.5x more powerful than the 460m. I'm pretty sure you'll see some improvements lol
