I have to choose between UPS and USPS, I don't have a Fedex office nearby.
It seems like the USPS boxes are too small for the laptop's dimensions. They don't look very secure for a laptop either. Am I correct in my assumption that they only offer 2 types of boxes?

UPS seem to offer a box specifically tailored for laptops (I'm still not sure if the laptop will fit in tho).

I don't have the original box, and I'd like to know which carrier offers more reliable boxes (and reasonable prices). I'd also like to know which shipping options are the best if I want to ship just the laptop and a charger.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure about the shipping rates, as that will vary by the locations it is shipped from and to. But we used to use UPS, but only changed away because of a better deal on rates with another carrier. We typically had pretty good luck with them. I believe they were typically a little faster than USPS. You may want to try to find a larger box if necessary at any kind of store that sells office supplies (at a staples or something similar). Just make sure to put good enough protection in it so the computer is secure, not bouncing around in the box, and insuring it might also be a good idea as well.

I don't know if it is true or not, or almost a superstition, but it might be better to go with an expedited air shipping over a ground shipping option. I've had a few various customers over the years say they only trust expedited/air deliveries for larger dollar items. Might make sense, if it is only in transit for 2 days instead of 3 to 5. Don't know if the packages are actually treated better that way, but I've just heard that come up a few times in conversation before.

Thank you for advice! How much does it normally cost to ship a laptop like P150EM with UPS 2nd day air? I seem to have trouble figuring that out from their website. I don't know where exactly I'll ship, as the laptop hasn't been sold yet, but it's limited to the US.
Also, they aren't listing the laptop box dimensions. Will the p150em fit into the box displayed on this page? https://www.theupsstore.com/pack-ship/electronics

You might have to just wait until it is sold, then call and talk to UPS (or whoever you go through). Plus, our shipping rates would be different than yours, as we get a volume discount.

The one in their picture might work, since it is a 15 inch model. 24 x 18 x 7 inches is the size of a generic box that we use for a lot of laptops that we ship. That gives plenty of room for packaging to be included in there. You would just want to find something slightly bigger than the dimensions of the laptop and make sure it is well padded.
