Most projectors I encounter still mostly use VGA as the video interface, IMO this cable should have been included with the Series 9.

In the quick start manual there is a mini hdmi to vga adapter shown as optional which looks very similar in form to the lan adapter, so I believe (hope) that it will become available soon.

I had a chat with Samsung and of course they couldn't find it, also called samsung parts and he couldn't find it either and stated that often samsung shows options that are not available yet in the manuals. Here is a link I found that might be the adapter.

In the meantime I am ordering a usb 2.0 to vga adapter. Below are some links to look at. Make sure you don't get something with a display port connector as it will not work. Also a cable from hdmi to vga will not work as this requires hardware to perform a conversion from an analog to a digital signal.

I will report back once I have received my adapter.

I bought a mini-HDMI to HMDI cable from monoprice for about $7. At home I also have an HDMI to VGA adapter so I used them together to play 1080p video on my big TV. It's perfect.

I looked for an adapter that went from hdmi to vga and only found this one, which is out of stock.

What kind of adapter do you have and where did you get it?

    Hi,

Sorry mine was not hdmi to vga, but hdmi to dvi. However, there're dvi to vga adapters too (my company gives those out for us to use).

So I have received and installed this usb 2.0 to vga adapter.

    Newegg.com - SABRENT USB-2011 USB 2.0 to DVI/HDMI/SVGA Display Adapter (2048x1152)

I chose this adapter because it has full HD. It works so far with no lag on 720p video. Max resolution is 2048x1152. As far as I can tell there is no footprint from any software, seems to load up as a plug and play device.

Had to get new drivers from website though b/c drivers that came on CD caused BSOD on Windows 7 64bit. But after installing newer drivers everything seems to work great so far.

    No problem.

Be careful with DVI to VGA cables etc. Particularly, hdmi->dvi->vga will NOT work. Several DVI ports have provisions to carry an analog signal (DVI-I and DVI-A), while I believe HDMI does not, it is purely digital.

Yeah I have found several links for a similar type of "dongle".

Previously samsung was not able to confirm that it was indeed the part and they were out of stock everywhere.

Today I was chatting with samsung and they confirmed it was indeed the correct part.

    I am ordering one today.

    @Javy

Can you give the full part number? I'm on the phone with J&J Parts and they can't find the item.

You want the "Series 9 VGA Dongle" part # AA-AH0NAMB/US

If you can find it online, it'll probably be cheaper than J&J (as their shipping is not cheap too). Click here

A couple of weeks ago, I used to see many stores listed. I can't even find this on www.samsungparts.com (which is J&J).

FYI. As I posted elsewhere, this VGA dongle works very well.
