My wife wants to make the leap from macbook to a 2-in-1 windows based machine but loves the aesthetics of apple products. She won't utilize the machine to its fullest potential or demands but wants a solid piece of equipment. We looked at the Microsoft Surface Book 2 which was essentially $3k out-the-door but is willing to compromise if there is a laptop in the $1500-2000 ideally. This machine will essentially be used as a desktop because she wants a smaller footprint than her imac. She insists on a silver color keyboard like mac and a touch screen.

We have gone to Bestbuy and Microsoft stores and here are quick observations on a few machines:
Surface Book 2: Looked ideal but stupid expensive. Still a consideration.
XPS 15 9575: Keyboard is not silver. Also, concerned with negative reviews like latency, etc...
HP Spectre: Keyboard is not silver.

Are there any machines that I am overlooking?

I haven't seen it in person but liked the LG Gram 2-in-1 but it is only in 14" which is too small.

I really enjoyed my 9575, the keyboard was much better than the 2017 MBP that I had. The build quality is great, I just couldn't justify the price for 16GB of ram (since it's soldered). Sometimes they have reasonable prices on the Dell Outlet...

Unfortunately, the keyboard is dark so not an option. Thanks for replying and I continue to welcome any other ideas.

Ah so you want the keyboard deck to be silver, at first I was thinking about the keys (but they are black on the MB). Sadly all that comes to mind is a Yoga 730 or Dell inspiron 7586.

There is a white version of the xps 13 if you are comfortable with that? From what I see online most laptops have dark keyboards so it'll be a bit hard

I believe the HP Envy X360 offers a 15" UHD touch display and a silver body while coming in under the Surface Book 2.
