Is there a trick to get the sd card reader working on a cf-29 with xp

The card reader shows up in device manager, but i can't get any card to be seen in explorer.

The cards work on a external usb card reader.
I have the dll in win32 and the sd utility, so i think the reader is dead
The led light of the reader blink when i put a card in, but then stops.

    Any ideas?

I think it was discussed a while back that the reader can't access SDHC cards of certain capacity. That said, I have no issues with CF29N reading a 8gb MicroSD (in a SD card adapter).

Thanks for the answer, i tested it now with an old 556 Mb card, and it works

so it can't be used for ready boost, as it needs fast and at least 1Gb of space for that :(

How big a card are you trying to use? 2GB SD Cards work fine in my CF-29 SD card reader.

I have read that the limit is 8GB, but have never tested my CF-29N beyond 4GB, which works fine for ReadyBoost.

    Hi to all,

I have just tryed a 16GB SDHC card in my CF-29 Mk5 and it works and works very well. It's faster in the card reader built in the cf-29 than my high speed usb card reader.

O I am so happy that my 16Gb SDHC card works in my CF-29 and it can stay in there even with the cover closed :)

    I have 3 cards, one 512, one 2 Gb and one 4Gb.
The 512 works, the others not
They all work with a usb reader (format= Fat 32)
The windows patch is outdated (i use SP3)

    any other idea's ?
