Hello everyone, I just turned on my computer and Im not getting any images on the screen, matter of fact it looks like it isnt turned on. My last time using the laptop its was fine, normal shut diwn etc. I have the evoc p870dm3, lcd panel 17.3 3 k QHD 2560x1440, Geforce gtx 1080, i 7 6700k processor. Infortunately for me I havent used the laptop much as I had hoped for when purchased. So this is a low mileage laptop lol. Any help would be much appreciated.

Never mind i found the problem

First thing to do, while computer is running point a bright light very close to the screen. I prefer aiming at the start menu point and keep on pressing the windows key so I should see movement. If you see something with that trick it means your backlight is out.

Second: force computer to shut down with a long press of the power button. I would prefer removing the battery while pc is running, but it doesn't appear to be simply removable. Sometimes Windows itself just decides its black screen day but that often helps. A short press would just put it in sleep mode and wake up from it, while all it does is show you black screen of crashed OS.

Third, plug in an external monitor and restart as instructed above. Even better: turn the laptop on and close the lid, that should direct all video output to external monitor.

Is there any activity when you press the power button (lights/LED status indicators, fans, etc.)? No power usually means a bad main board, but power and no POST/no display leaves a lot to troubleshooting.

sry guys tks for your input, apparently it was in a deep sleep and didnt want to be waken. I didnt hold the power down long enough for a proper shut down. This time I held it until all the lights went out. Restarted and presto a lite screen with evoc in big letters. This machine is awesome been playing witcher 3 when I get time every now and then.

Just as a warning on battery it takes a longer press to turn on too ;)
