Had a look at a broken G3 I have lying around and it doesnt look like the top will come off.

Inside I could not find any way to seprate the top
Tried to wedge it open but it felt like it would bend the metal

It must be able to because a technician was able to replace a screen on my old one. I'm going to keep trying. See if you can come up something too if you have the time tam

Sorry misread something... Thought you meant palmrest top

    Screen is rather easy.
Undo the antenna's and the screen cable then undo the screws of the hinges.

The front bezel will come off easily, it has little hooks on the outside every 3cm or so.
Inside sides have a sticky strip.
So start on the top by either pulling the bezel or use a small screwdriver slightly to the outside of the mic holes
Not sure if it works from the bottom because my hinges are not loose at the moment

Padraig, when you do open this assembly, would you please record and post for us the identification data (brands, part numbers, and/or such) of the screen, cable from screen to color board, color board itself, and cable from color board to motherboard?

Ok everyone. After switching screens I have noticed something very very peculiar. To answer everyone's question I have found this.

    And this

But here is the intersting thing

And instead of the screens being rare To find I have found plenty online. Also note the brightness is 400 on these screens. Which makes me beg to differ why is it 320 when the dreamcolor module is introduced.

Above is the previous model of which is out of stock
