Took the laptop apart and physically moved it around. It had a really sharp bend near the connector on the motherboard (it's the fat black cable coming in from the hinge, motherboard port is close to the CPU right next to the CPU fan). Also pulled it in about 1cm from the hinge so that there was more leeway on the mobo side. Had to remove CPU fan and heatsink assembly for that.

Looks like I may have to do that. The problem seems to be returning.

It keeps coming back for me as well... I think it's one of those things that may need a whole new cable or it will only ever be a short term fix. :(

If the cable has suffered damage and is on the brink then there is not much you can do.

My Prostar computer has only been a year half old. I believe I'm still under warranty since I recall a three years repair warranty. Guess I could always have them check it out.

Hey Shadow Cloud. Definitely let us know about the issue if you're still in warranty (or even if you're out of warranty). You can ask me questions about the RMA process here or contact us through our site to get the ball rolling.

I actually gone through the RMA process with you guys before, and it went well. I have sent an email to techadmin@pro-star.com.

Well I replaced the display cable that connects the board to the screen. It seems to be working so far with no screen flickering. Was a bit of a nuisance and took longer than I thought, but I hope this will fix the problem.

Yes just re-seating it is easy but it is a bit buried for replacement .
