recently screen started acting weird. no high temps or usage.

usually happens when visiting webpages or programs with either solid background or solid color stripes (xbox app, intel website, nextdns website)

automatically fixes if I close the app or change the browser tab

hdmi out to external monitor works fine as seen in video

as you can see at 00:30s that pressing top of keyboard area or just below the screen fixes temporary. also happens occasionally at the BIOS logo screen and fixes when pressed. once fixed it goes away for days until it randomly appears again.

is this screen, edp cable, controller or the gfx card or something else?

For me it could be a broken eDP cable. Wait for more feedback. Does it make an external display flicker too?
    Have you tried it?

    mine is 30pin edp part # 6-43-P7751-010-1N

confused if a broken edp would cause screen issue for specific webpages/apps and not all the time

Search for part number on eBay. Got plenty of offers there.

    6-43-P7751-010-1N

Can be coincidence but it's a broken cable for sure. Try opening the lid all the way max (don't force it). Closing or opening it while the laptop is on should make the screen flicker

Different thermal conditions could be causing expansion/contraction of the mis-seated or broken part.
