    Hi forum,

Managed to damage my screen on my ASUS UX410 and went to my local repair shop to have it replaced. Straight away I noticed the screen had backlight bleed in the left lower corner. Not something I noticed on the original screen.

It’s a bit irritating and I would like to know if it’s what to expect from an IPS screen or if you think I should expect to have it replaced?

IPS screens tends to have that bit of a glow around the corners usually. It's a bit exaggerated in that left bottom corner unfortunately. I'm assuming your laptop is your main display? I gather you only notice it on a black screen? If it really bothers you it won't hurt to ask. Show the repair guy and maybe he'll exchange and install the part for you. I'm guessing he's going to charge you though to replace it again so you have to ask if it's worth it. My gl702vs has a lot of glow around the corners, looks much worse than yours...

But that's only noticeable on a black screen on mine with 100% brightness set. Otherwise the quality of my screen is excellent, very vibrant and would not replace it just because it has ips glow on a full black screen. I usually use 30% brightness, and I actually use my external monitor 24/7 anyways, but even if used my laptop screen as my main monitor I still wouldn't replace it.
