    How much battery can you drain out of this, a couple of years? :) Maybe if you dim the lights a bit you might get a few extra months :p I'm fine with 5 years.

    Its most likley going to lead to people buying a battery for say 10-15 years, and upgrading the notebook around it

    Proprietary designs will be implemented so that the vendor can lock you in to the deal.

    One big push to get technology like this into the mainstream is going to be based on environmental concerns, is people throw away a battery every 15-30 years instead of every 2-3 years, its going to help the whole problem of recycling.

    so there is a business model out there, with bigger and better returns, I mean if you are roped into a service agreement for 15 years even with free updates, thats 15 years of your money they will be collecting monthly/annually

    long term returns on short term investments!

    and can I second the comment about running my car on one?
