Hi, i need an opinion on something.
i want to do a paper for my college business class on MLM (multi-level marketing, or pyramid schemes) and i want to do it on the "win a free laptop or iPod" schemes. i know they work if you try hard enough, but i want to do this scientifically. i am keeping a journal of all this on a blog, in my sig. plus, id love a new laptop too: i just broke the HDD on mine after i dropped it on pavement.

does anyone know if these schemes work, or should i even waste my time?
    cheers

Pyramid Schemes technically work, but they aren't worth the payoff.

For more information, just google "Pyramid Scheme" - it should get you started.

They work, for the person who originally starts it. Everyone who 'tags' along will have a huge hassle. It's definitely not worth it unless you have the time to spare, and the hair to pull out(good luck canceling subscriptions).

For the hours you'd spend sending out emails, invites, sign ups, and eventually, cancellation phone calls, it'd be easier to get a job.

i remember a friend got into such a scheme a while back, he spent a lot of money going to their meetings and recruiting ppl but the costs just kept piling up and the benefits werent enough. In the end something happened and I think he lost some friends cuz of it and he doesnt wanna talk about what happened.
