    Hello,
First post here and i hope someone can give me good advice.
O.K. ,,the problem is i cannot get the board to power on,i'll push the power button and all i get is Flashing miniature blue lights,in a rapid sequence on the power button, but the screen or the fans do not come on.The green light comes on the front of the notebook,as well as,the yellow harddrive light.

Their is power to the board, and i checked all possible connections and soldered components to make sure they were seated properly,,but still no luck in getting her to power up,,,just those mini.blue lights on the power button.

so all the power led's light up but it doesnt post?

If that is the case, its most likely the southbridge that blew. The second posiblity is one of hte power FETS on the board either blew or partially died.

to help rule out the southbridge, take apart the laptop and check it. sometimes it will look burnt or have a small hole in it. If this is the case, the board is toast unless you can find a repair facility that will replace the southbridge (but IMO I would just sell all the parts for scrap and buy a new laptop if that is the case)

if the southbridge looks ok, lmk and I will get you the voltage check points for the power fets. If one of them is blown you can replace it. You would just need to order some new ones from a website called digikey. (I assume you can solder)

Thank you MaxxxRacer for the quick response,,,yes i went thru all the F key steps and after eliminating this as a possibility,,opened her up. She doesn't have any burn marks or burnt smells,,but like you,,i believe she is toast too,,it is a real shame because this laptop is only 2 1/2 years old. Again Thank you!
