Before i purchased sony, I never had problem with LCD display with any other brands. Now, I am a university student that carries notebook many times along with books. However this is ridiculous. I use seperate targus laptop bag, and put my books in front pocket. Yet there seems to be some kind of compression between books and LCD display. The result - Dead pixel appears.

Now I probably wouldnt say this normally but, this is my 2nd time. The first time, sony was kind enough to replace my LCD which took about a week. But another one appeared within 1 week. Ridiculous!

I believed the S series had its lid made from magnesium etc.. but sony s series had to be one of non-durableLaptop.

I got my sony sz with no dead pixels and recently I have noticed a new one on the bottom right of screen, im wondering if it is from carrying it in my back pack as well.

I noticed slight "rubbings" or lighter spots on my S-Series which seems to be the screen rubbing against the body when closed (I also carry the notebook around a lot in my cramped backpack). Now I always put a protective layer between body and lid before closing and transporting it. Has stopped new damages from occuring so far
