Damn, I thought that started as a 3rd party thing for AW's?

Nice to see it's official from Clevo :)

Hmmm, maybe it's coming back to me now, long lost memory, the Clevo adapter was appropriated by AW enthusiasts, rather than the other way around? Anyone else recall?

Yeah the AC-100 was originally for dual 300W power supplies for the X7200 from Clevo. Alienware owners got word of it and started working on it although in some cases it was found the system couldn't have any higher power (like the Alienware 18 where everyone wanted it).

Delleienware crippled the possibility for use of dual 330W on Aw18, when they saw that @Mr. Fox showed this was possible with AW M18XR2. Dell don't want to sell powerful machines. Just see the new line and you will understand!! Pushed 180w psu and hybrid bios for laptops with Gtx980M:eek:

what I'm really waiting for is the TI version which will inevitably be about 40 to 50 percent faster than the 1080

I feel as if pascal has a lot of stride in it's step and nvidia are doing this to make people buy both releases

That definitely is what it looks like.

Personally, my Desktop SLI setup has been able to run everything at solid framerates at 1440p, so I haven't felt the pressure to upgrade even though the 1080s will be faster.

That might change when Battlefield 1 comes out as well as some of the other Q4 titles but by then we may have 1080ti annoucements (or at least by Q1 2017)
