IMO the laptop looks like GS65's successor.

Nice. Wonder what they did different, that's a fairly dramatic change in size.

Probably more efficient parts...perfect example is the 2x330W Delta power brick, with the knowledge, anyone can home make a 600W+ power adapter which takes the size of 1 Delta 330W adapter (perfect example is the home made adapter by Eurocom for Clevo laptops).

Hopefully they did not cut corners and the laptop will not have power throttling issues :)

GaN (Gallium Nitride) transistors seemed to finally pick up this generation, which seems to be the enabling force behind a lot of these smaller PSUs.

I really don't think that laptop charger will adopt GaN so fast due to its high cost. Some design optimization is more likely the reason for smaller size.

Does the new power adapter have a name? It reminds me of the white apple charger if the square plugs right into the wall. I’m all for lighter chargers for sure.

    Isn't that the USB-C adapter (65W) ?

Wonder if I can buy a new one of these small chargers for my GE72 MVR with GTX1070?

No clue but if it powers the GS65, its at least a 240w PSU.
