Hello, I recently got a ROG 702 VSK with GTX 1070. Due to rampant heating, I decided to undervolt the CPU and use the notebook fancontrol software to keep it cool.

I don't think undervolting or fancontrol or HWINFO64 has to do with anything with it but sometimes th computer boots and cannot recognize that there is a battery attached. When I unplug the power brick, computer stays on but still says no battery recognized. Also sometimes the computer boots and thinks it is unplugged in, if I unplug/plug the power brick then it sees power bricked attached.

I did full shutdown with battery detached and power button pressed for almost a minute, all drivers are up to date, I even tried disabling undervolting, HWINFO64 and notebook fancontrol but this still happens almost randomly.

Any suggestions? Anyone experience the same issue?

Functionally, nothing is wrong whatsoever except annoying me and not knowing how much power is left on the battery sometimes. Should I expect something like this (http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ps-on-going-switching-to-battery-mode.833988/) to happen next or just driver/W10 issue?

Well it turns out using Intel XTU v6.5.2.40 was causing driver issues for the chipset. I decided to stop underclocking and ended up poking 4 holes under each fan to compensate for heat generated. Now waiting for thermal pads and some kryonaut to further compensate for the heat.
